"Inspired by her years of experience in the mental health field, the distinct psychological themes found throughout Pam Lethbridge's work highlight the complicated relationships we have with our childhoods and with one another. Both vulnerable and curious Lethbridge's childish figures ache for tenderness and companionship yet cannot seem to overcome their collective detachment. Their careful arrangement quietly illustrates Lethbridge's own whimsical, secretive stories."
Emily Smith, Gallery Director Philadelphia's Magic Gardens.

Each ceramic piece is hand built using pinched, coiled and slab techniques. I use dark brown stoneware clay with commercial underglazes layered on top. The pieces are single fired in an electric kiln to cone 4. The vintage fabric pieces are hand sewn. Some incorporate found objects.
